1. Getting in contact

Get in touch with us by filling out the proposal form which is situated on the 'Pricing' page.

Provide the information about your study to give us a bit more information about your current requirements.

We will set up a call with you and get some information off you in order to create your account credentials.

Once you have been given your credentials, you will be able to access the AthenaCX Design Studio via this link.

2. Creating a study

After logging in you will be brought to your 'Home' page. Click the 'Create New Survey' button in the top right corner of the page.

3. Designing your survey

Now that you've started a survey. You will need to drag and drop questions from the side menu onto the 'Survey Map'. This enable you to easily create and order your survey questions.

After dragging your questions into your survey, you need to fill in the content. The 'Question View' will automatically appear after you have dragged a question into the Survey Map. If you need to edit this information, you just need to double tap on the question as it appears in the Survey Map and this will bring you back to the Question View.

4. Scheduling your notifications

In order to create the notification pattern make sure that the Survey Map is visible. Select the button in the bottom left corner which is labelled 'Time Structure'. After selecting this, your side menu will turn to a list of settings. These settings are responsible for the notification schedule that your participants will receive for this individual questionnaire.

Every - Specify a number of minutes which will be the time window in between each notification.

Randomize - If you would like Randomisation, toggle the switch.

Variance - The number of minutes which probe may vary from the specified distance in the 'Every' option.

Max Probe - Enter a maximum number of probes that a participant can receive for the questionnaire.

Time Limit - The amount of time that a participant has to actually respond to a notification.

Title - The title of the questionnaire. This title will show on the participant's phone notification.

Start Time - The time of which the notifications will start arriving.

End Time - The time of which the notifications will stop arriving.

5. Defining your study time

In order to create the notification pattern make sure that the Survey Map is visible. Select the button in the bottom left corner which is labelled 'Study Details'. After selecting this, your side menu will turn to a list of settings. These settings are responsible for the structure of the global project.

Day Start - The start time of each day. Probes will not arrive before this time.

Day End - The end time of each day. Probes will not arrive after this time.

Start Time - The start time of the global study. *All questionnaires within a study must start after the study has started.

End Time - The start time of the global study. *All questionnaires within a study must end before the study has ended.

Title - The global project's title.

Privacy - The privacy/consent text which the participant must accept before taking part in the survey.

6. Setting up participants

After you have designed your survey and are happy with the structure, you now must add participants. Select the 'Distribute' button in the top right hand corner of the screen. In order to add a participant, fill in the blank input box with an ID for a participant. To add another, hit the '+' button on the right hand side above the participant list. Repeat the process in order to fill out the participant list. *It is important that you keep a separate reference with all of your study and the IDs as we do not keep a record of personal infomration for your participants.

7. Finish up

You've now got everything in place. Hit the 'Create' button in the top right hand side of the screen. Your survey has now been created. Get your participants to download the AthenaCX and access the app by entering the participantID which you have created for them under the 'Join Closed Survey' tab.
